Senator Ted Kennedy was buried on Saturday, August 29th after losing his fight with brain cancer. Senator Kennedy was a beloved figure to liberals, progressives and the media chattering classes. They lionized his support for every program and wish in their platform to remake man in the image of --- well unfortunately not God. Senator Kennedy’s moral failings from being booted from Harvard for cheating, to abandoning Mary Jo Kopechne and enticing his nephew, Will Smith to go out drinking on Holy Saturday which led to Smith’s arrest for rape were deep, fundamental and unfortunately, lifelong. As a Catholic man his public dissent from the Magisterium and Tradition of the Church have caused scandal and exposed many people to perdition’s touch. We can only hope and pray that Senator Kennedy made a heartfelt, sincere conversion before he died and was welcomed home by God.
